Only considering candidates eligible to work in San Francisco Bay Area, USA ⚠️

Description

*Open to applicants located in the San Francsico Bay Area, California

*Full-time with benefits

What You Will Do

You will be a key technical leader driving the research, design, and implementation of advanced AI and machine learning solutions. You will shape the strategic direction of data science initiatives, mentor teams, and collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business leaders to deliver high-impact, data-driven innovations. Your work will push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI — from experimentation to large-scale deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and deploy cutting-edge machine learning and generative AI models that solve complex business problems.
  • Set best practices for data science methodologies, experimentation, and model lifecycle management.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams — including engineering, analytics, and product — to identify opportunities for AI-driven innovation and ensure seamless integration into production systems.
  • Guide and mentor data scientists and ML engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Stay ahead of emerging AI techniques, evaluate new tools and technologies, and contribute thought leadership to advance the organization’s AI capabilities.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and ethical use of AI models while driving best practices for data acquisition and feature engineering.
  • Monitor and refine model performance, ensuring scalability, robustness, and alignment with business goals.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

Who You Are

We value team members who are innovative, driven, and enthusiastic. You are a hands-on, strategic data science expert with a passion for using AI to drive real-world impact. You excel at both deep technical problem-solving and high-level strategy. You thrive in complex, fast-paced environments and are comfortable influencing across levels — from mentoring junior scientists to advising executives. You have a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and computer science, combined with a curiosity for innovation and ethical AI.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in modern ML and AI techniques (e.g., deep learning, NLP, generative models, reinforcement learning).
  • Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX.
  • Strong background in data engineering, feature design, model evaluation, and A/B testing.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and distributed computing environments (e.g., Spark, Ray, or cloud ML platforms).
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to translate complex technical work into business value.
  • Experience in responsible AI practices, model interpretability, and bias mitigation preferred.
