Job Type: Permanent

Location: This role is based in either our London or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home.

Salary and benefits: £35,000 plus 8% bonus up to 16%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a PR Consultant within our corporate communications team to work with us on media activity for Standard Life, part of Phoenix Group.

The role:

  • Effectively engaging with media on the issues that are important to our customers, clients and the media
  • Working to tight deadlines while maintaining quality of communications
  • Building relationships and influencing outcomes within our function, across our wider business and with media
  • Proactively contributing to projects as an active project member and leading smaller projects to successfully deliver communication outcomes.
  • Creating project or activity related materials, which may include a range of written communications, providing support and advice to stakeholders to protect and enhance our brand and reputation
  • Applying knowledge, skill and experience in assessing issues to make clear the options and implications that enable informed decision making in respect of processes and projects.
  • Keeping up to date with communication best practices and continually reviewing methods, processes and practices so that the highest quality of deliverables is maintained
  • Supporting our function in identifying and managing risks, and ensuring compliance with internal policy and external legislation/regulation in order maintain best communication practice.
  • Balancing workload in the context of changing priorities and being responsive to business and media needs.

What We’re Looking For

Working with colleagues across our organisation, external partners and media, we are looking for individuals with knowledge of the financial sector, ability to grasp technical information, good communication and relationship skills. Excellent writing skills and a keen interest in news and media. Our ideal candidates will enjoy coming up with creative solutions and making what can sometimes be complex information much easier to understand. Good planning and organisational skills will be
