The Player Experience Strategist works within the Player Experience Insights organization supporting productions grouped in portfolios alongside user research analysts and reports to a portfolio manager. Team members may be located in Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, Halifax (Canada), Cary (NC, USA) and Paris (France).
Role description:
The Player Experience Strategist will work closely with game productions and play a major role in creating the industry’s most innovative player experiences. This person will be responsible for the player experience of the project while collaborating with a team of experts to establish and execute strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a player experience strategy from design through live operations, grounded in production priorities, design pillars and PX objectives.
- Drive creation of high-impact player experience insights using diverse data sources (game telemetry, surveys, observations, etc.) and maximize the use and reach of those findings.
- Become a trusted partner in decision-making with key production team members and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other expert teams such as Market Knowledge, Community Development and others to build influential advanced insights.
Qualifications:
- Passion for games and for understanding player behaviors, expectations and needs.
- Strong experience and proven track record conducting mixed-methods research and generating insights through triangulation of multiple data sources.
- Good knowledge of game development and game design.
- Ability to represent players while managing stakeholders with diverse priorities and perspectives.
- Results-oriented, able to produce actionable insights that exceed industry standards.
- Collaborative team spirit and appreciation for working with other experts to optimize effectiveness and quality.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple studies and operational projects while keeping strategic objectives in view across large teams.
- Ability to operate in a complex ecosystem, adapting to existing standards and processes while improving and innovating them.
- Experience integrating research into a game production or product team, ideally within the games industry.
