We’re looking for a Part-Time Sponsorship Sales Associate to help us secure support for our online and in-person trainings like Introduction to Progressive Data and Introducción a las herramientas de datos. The work of the Part-Time Sales Associate will be key to our ability to offer our 2023 online trainings completely free of charge and our in-person trainings largely free of charge to students in need of financial assistance.

While this will initially be a part-time contract role, we envision the potential for growth and promotion. Depending on performance and fit, our intention is to have this become a full-time position with Generation Data.

About Generation Data

Generation Data is a national, mission driven non-profit. Our focus is on recruiting and training the next generation of diverse data and technology practitioners who will help progressive, civic engagement, and social impact organizations achieve victory and drive change at the national, state, and local levels.

To date, Generation Data has trained over 200 individuals free of charge or for very low-cost in data management and analytics. With assistance from Generation Data, graduates have gone on to work for Biden 2020, Warnock 2020, The DNC, the DSCC, the DCCC, state parties in Colorado, Florida, Michigan, Missouri, Texas, and Wisconsin as well as AFL-CIO, America Votes, Color of Change, Planned Parenthood, Poder Latinx, SEIU, the State Voices network, Sunrise Movement, TargetSmart, United We Dream, and many other progressive organizations.

Generation Data students are 60% BIPOC, 60% female or non-binary, and 35% LGBTQ+. Our students come from over 30 states across the US.

Responsibilities Include

  • Email / call prospective sponsors from existing lead list using provided sponsorship materials / templates
  • Research and contact additional prospective sponsors
  • Virtually meet with representatives of prospective sponsor organizations along with other Generation Data team members / consultants
  • Coordinate with other Generation Data staff / consultants on existing sponsor relationships / business development efforts
  • Track outreach, sponsorships secured, etc. in Salesforce
  • Other tasks that may arise relevant to sponsorship sales
