Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)

Location: This role could be based in either our London or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home.

Flexible working: All of our roles are open to part-time, job-share and other types of flexibility. We will discuss what is important to you and balancing this with business requirements during the recruitment process.

Salary and benefits: c.£60,000 depending on experience plus 16% bonus up to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more

Within Phoenix Group, we have an incredible opportunity to work on our Standard Life brand, as a Marketing Effectiveness Lead joining our creative department within our Marketing Effectiveness team and reporting directly into the Head of Marketing Technology and Effectiveness.

The role

Excitingly, we’re building out our marketing measurement and effectiveness team and so we’re looking for a talented Marketing Effectiveness Lead. You’ll be leading a team focussed on Marketing MI, reporting and KPIs. We need your expertise to turn data into marketing insight and to help drive a data inspired Marketing.

As a manager you’ll be nurturing and building talent as well as designing and delivering the effectiveness function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure effectiveness of marketing activity across P&Ls, marketing channels and support decision making
  • Create an ambitious roadmap to improve measurement, working with internal and external partners to strengthen and futureproof insight, e.g. cookie deprecation
  • Deliver optimisation and effectiveness to Marketing delivery and planning process
  • Champion data driven decision making and drive marketing mix models implementation of insights/framework across marketing teams
  • Ensure delivery of accurate and timely analysis and reporting, interpret output and communicate clearly and effectively to drive business change
  • Manage and prioritise a varied portfolio of projects and partner with external consultancies and internal teams
  • Embed the latest marketing performance analysis methodologies. Develop, maintain, share and seek out leading analytical practice within the wider analyst community internally and externally
  • Manage a team of specialists, providing guidance and support and upskilling the team and wider marketing colleagues to develop analytic skills
  • Deliver marketing audience insights to support marketing planning and campaigns briefs

What are we looking for?

  • Advanced analytical skills and ability to generate and structure insight from complex and sometime disparate data
  • Experience in data visualisation, identifying new and informative ways to convey data and insights.
  • Data storytelling skills and ability to see application of data insights to business problems
  • Capacity for driving transformational change in an organisation
  • Solid understanding of foundational marketing theory
  • Ability to look beyond numbers and spot things like behaviour change, funnel leaks and cultural impacts on campaigns
  • Deep understanding of measurement techniques, in particular MMM/Econometrics
  • Experience working with marketing and commercial stakeholders to translate marketing effectiveness insight
  • Strong leadership, able to engage and motivate teams, driving advocacy and fostering bold thinking to challenge the status-quo and evolve how we work
