The opportunity

Be a key member of the Office of Executive Accountability (OEA), offering specialised guidance and assistance to boards and executive leaders regarding their responsibilities under the Financial Accountability Regime.

Your new role

As the Manager, Office of Executive Accountability, you will play a critical role in implementing and managing a comprehensive and compliant accountability framework, ensuring alignment with the requirements of Financial Accountability Regime (FAR).

Partnering with the Senior Manager OEA and the broader business, you will provide expert advice and guidance to QBE, its board members and executive leaders on FAR.

You will also:

  • Provide support to Accountable Persons and their teams, guiding them through the requirements of FAR accountability obligations.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of Accountability Statements and Maps, and notifications to Regulators.
  • Play a pivotal role in enhancing/developing processes and systems to meet accountability and notification obligations, driving a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Keep the Senior Manager OEA in the loop by reporting on implementation progress, addressing emerging risks, and ensuring proactive communication on QBE’s compliance with FAR.
  • As part of the OEA team, provide support and guidance in relation to policy governance administration to ensure all new and existing policies adhere to the QBE standards

About you

You will be dedicated to excellence, innovation, and integrity whilst navigating the complex regulatory landscape and accountability at every level of our organisation.

  • Highly experienced in compliance, risk, regulatory or governance, preferably within a large financial services organisation
  • Experience with drafting formal or corporate documentation, including policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a detailed understanding of the requirements of legislation
  • Demonstrated ability to develop detailed knowledge of business processes
  • Strong communication skills, both written & oral.
  • Prior knowledge of BEAR or FAR is highly desirable but not essential for this position
