The role
There is always something new happening at Huel and our Finance team supports the business by analysing performance to ensure we make the best commercial decisions. To help them continue their work, weâre looking for a new Retail & Marketing Management Accountant to join us on a 12-month fixed term contract!
This role will see you taking accountability for two key areas of the businessâRetail Sales (one of the fastest-growing segments) and Marketing. It is a broad and varied role that offers valuable insights into our wider finance processes, including control, tax, and statutory reporting. Here's what you'll get up to day to day:
- Retail accountingâ This is an end-to-end role encompassing controls (journals, balance sheet recs, analytical reviews) and FP&A (inputting in to budget and forecasts). Youâll be responsible for ensuring correct revenue and cost recognition each month.
- Retail reporting-Â Youâll be analyzing monthly and YTD retail results, providing reporting and insight into performance, as well as working with the data team to ensure that our finance system (Netsuite) and BI tool (ThoughtSpot) remain in sync.
- Marketing cost reporting - Youâll be required to understand the various types of marketing spend incurred by the business and work with our FP&A team to prepare insight into actuals vs forecasts.
- Budgeting -Â In addition to reporting actuals, youâll also be involved in looking forward and planning ahead with the FP&A team to help prepare the Retail budget.
- Efficiency improvements - Youâll be constantly on the lookout for ways to improve the efficiency, timeliness and accuracy of our financial results and will the take the initiative to make these happen.
- Audit support -Â Every good accountant looks forward to that time of the year and youâll be no different!
- Ad hoc projects - Youâll spend a portion of your time involved in ad hoc projects. We donât always know what will happen next! But youâll contribute to new streams of work in the business that need a finance lens.

- This role will best suit someone who has a good background in management accounting and the month-end close, but is also confident partnering with commercial teams and working in an area undergoing a high degree of change
- We need you to know your debits and credits! You should be part-qualified and working towards completing a relevant accounting qualification (ACCA, ACT, CIMA) or you may even have enough relevant work experience in this field. We want you to jump straight in and take ownership from day one.
- Some experience working with commercial teams outside of finance, a willingness to go the extra mile to support the business, and the ability to translate our finance concepts into relatable terms - no one wants to talk accruals and debits!
- Youâll be a great communicator and influencer, able to work with a range of people including internal teams and, most importantly, external stakeholder
- Attention to detail and a proven ability to deliver to deadlines will be critical.
