Duration: Permanent

Location: This role is based in London Waterloo. This role is a full-time opportunity, flexible working patterns will be considered.

Band & Salary: Band 2C, Salary £85,393 - £106,746 (Subject to experience)

About the role (External)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced individual to manage major transactions through to delivery, including M&A transactions, strategic partnerships, complex procurements and other innovative transactions to attract private capital into the railway. This role involves deal origination and execution, liaising with key investors, senior internal stakeholders, external advisors, and government stakeholders.

This highly qualified professional will have demonstrable experience at designing and executing deals, hold a degree or equivalent experience, and have a proven track record at a senior or professional level in a similar role. The ideal candidate must have strong negotiating skills, be financially literate and be able to quickly develop and maintain key relationships across a variety of investors, advisors, internal stakeholder, and government.

What does the average day look like?

In this role, you'll lead, structure and execute major transactions designed to achieve best value for money, setting the scope, and success criteria in collaboration with the executive and functional directors. You'll manage the delivery of business cases, liaising with stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes, and conducting detailed analysis to maximise value. You'll develop financial models and options analysis, identifying and managing risks. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (including private sector investors and government departments) will be a key activity. You'll also be expected to monitor and report progress, as well as manage budgets. Additionally, you will provide sound technical and analytical support for the development and execution of transactions.

Essential Criteria

·Educated to degree level in a relevant field with equivalent experience

·Successful experience working at a senior or professional level in a similar role

·Demonstrable track record of successful Merger and Acquisitions (M&A)

·Proven successful history of structuring and executing complex transactions

·Advanced financial modelling skills

·Demonstrable experience in successful delivery of complex corporate finance transactions

·Significant successful experience working in a complex matrix organisation

·Successful experience in influencing senior internal and external stakeholders

·Excellent communications and presentational skills

·Strong demonstrable commercial focus

·Strong negotiation skills

·Detailed knowledge of UK legislation, regulation and practice on government procurement laws, private financing

·Strong attention to detail

·Experience of managing projects to successful conclusion
