Life Science Underwriter

The opportunity

We are creating a new position to support our growth plan in the Life Science business area.

This will provide you with a chance to be part of a successful organisation with strong growth ambitions combined with the entrepreneurial spirit of a medium local size company.

The position can be based in Stockholm or Copenhagen.

Your new role

  • Evaluate risk for new business & renewals to ensure profitable growth.
  • Actively keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness.
  • Provide senior technical and specialist product expertise to corporate intermediaries/clients.
  • Support divisional underwriting function to actively manage talent for succession planning.
  • Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and good practice to minimise risks.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers, intermediaries, and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of channel strategic plans.
  • Motivate and develop the team by demonstrating good leadership behaviours.
  • Achieve overall local underwriting governance requirements and internal audit standards.

Your profile

  • Experience in Life Science or Casualty Underwriting experience or as a broker
  • High level of written and spoken English
  • Good communicator with strong facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships
  • Technical report writing skills
