As a Lead Technical Designer, you will be responsible for creating and implementing complex, technical and systemic design elements in a game.

You will primarily be a game or level designer recognized for your technical skills within a design or multidisciplinary production team.

Acting as a technical reference for your team, you will help, support and advise your peers as needed. You may also be called upon to become the project's technical expert on a specific game element.

What you will do:

  • Own the realization and implementation of the technical elements of a complete game feature, collaborating closely with technical directors, programmers and other disciplines.
  • Act as a technical expert on a specific subject, being responsible for tools, documentation, technical support, and for identifying and sharing best practices.
  • Participate in optimization and validation of data, ensuring colleagues follow technical standards for your area of expertise while considering budget constraints.
  • Participate in advanced data debugging through the end of production.
  • Provide periodic feedback to design leadership, such as suggestions to improve tools and methods.
  • Participate in testing new features or tools before they are rolled out to the rest of the team.
  • Perform production tasks within a team as a game or level designer and prototype gameplay features during game design.
  • Design and implement more complex, abstract design elements in the game that present technical challenges or have game-wide impact.

Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in game or level design with a more technical profile.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in technical language and clearly express ideas (written and verbal).
  • Strong adaptability, analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • User-focused mindset.
  • Strong curiosity and passion for understanding how things work.
  • Experience with multiple engines and platforms (asset).
  • Experience with several 2D/3D creation tools (asset).
  • Experience with programming/scripting (asset).
