Job description: What you will do:
- Distribute tasks and track progress on various projects during team meetings.
- With your team's help, proactively identify threats affecting online multiplayer games and plan the best ways to respond.
- Collaborate with other teams (gameplay, physics, network, engine) to continuously improve and harden the codebase.
- Provide your team with the tools they need to work independently and contribute to the long-term technical vision of projects.
- Meet individually with each team member to discuss performance, wellbeing and career development.
- Communicate regularly with leads from other disciplines to plan, assess risks and meet deadlines.
- Code alongside members of your team.
- Keep your project manager informed of the progress of your tasks and meet other project leads, whether part of your project or not, to discuss ways to improve processes and share technologies.
Qualifications: What you bring:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or an equivalent field.
- Extensive experience in game programming (strong technical knowledge in engine and/or online programming and/or gameplay + security is an asset), or extensive experience with large live systems (platforms involving many disciplines).
- At least three years of experience managing a team of programmers.
- Proficiency in C++ and other programming languages commonly used to develop games or online platforms.
- Experience participating in the full production of at least one game or equivalent as a programming team lead.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and strategic leadership skills, combined with high empathy and diplomacy.
- Ability to remain calm in difficult situations (you know there's always a solution).
- A genuine understanding of game production and the ability to see things from the perspective of other professionals involved in production.
