Senior IT Solutions Specialist - DevOps

Reports to: Technical Operations Manager

Permanent – Full-time

The team

As a Senior IT Solutions Specialist, you’ll play an integral role in the design and operations of our DevOps practice, mainly focused on supporting development pipelines – internal and gamer facing operational activities, proactive capacity management and event monitoring.

You will be acting as the technical reference, mentor and point of escalation on that topic, also being involved in day-to-day operations. We’re looking for someone passionate in IT, and excited to work in a fast-paced changing environment.

What you will do

• Focuses on day-to-day operations: requests, incidents, changes, project tasks;
• Participates to maintenance activities based on the requirements of the team, sometimes outside regular business hours;
• Gives technical assistance to Level 1 and 2 teams on more complex issues;
• Works closely with the cybersecurity team to ensure best practices are aligned, implemented, monitored and actioned;
• Participates in provider selection process and budgets;
• Makes sure that documentation is available and up to date.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent;
• 5 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing IT solution;
• 3+ years of experience as a hands-on specialist who has operated within a DevOps environment;
• 3-5+ years of experience with Linux operating systems;
• Knowledge of open-source infrastructure as code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.;
• Thorough knowledge of fundamental CI/CD and DevOps principles;
• Experience with version control solutions such as Gitlab to deploy infrastructure and applications;
• Strong experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar public cloud infrastructure platforms;
• Strong experience working with Kubernetes, or containerized application management/orchestration in general;
• Experience with security technologies used commonly within dynamic infrastructure environments (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, etc.);
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL (MongoDB, MySQL) server administration and management;
• Strong experience with website management (e.g. DNS services, certificate management, etc.);
• Adept at learning and understanding new technologies quickly;
• Proficiency in identifying and responding to incidents, troubleshooting and providing timely support to users;
• In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure components - operating systems, databases, storage, networks, containers, etc.;
• Experience coaching and mentoring team members.

Even better if you have

• Knowledge of monitoring tools is a considerable asset such as Prometheus, Grafana, Cortex, etc.;
• Prior experience in the video game industry and knowledge of game development pipelines would be a plus;
• Experience with Atlassian productions suite (Jira, Confluence);
• Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware vSphere).
