Position Description: Rainbow Six Mobile is looking for an IT Project Manager – Gameplay Programming to lead the technical vision and execution of the player experience, including our tactical gameplay loop, numerous progression systems, in-game menus, and many other aspects.

As the PM for Player Experience, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with associate producers to set realistic production targets for team leads and production managers, and ensuring they are met within agreed timelines.
  • Collaborating closely with our technical director, technical architect, and other PMs to ensure all departments work toward the same high-level project goals.
  • Having regular discussions with game directors and lead designers about future features or improvements, the technical feasibility of proposed changes, and the overall game feel.
  • Working closely with our QA leads in Montreal and Bucharest to maintain high-quality builds at all times, enabling developers to work, test, and deliver without roadblocks.
  • Identifying staffing needs for our core gameplay, AI, and UI teams to support both cross-functional mandates and the R6M product teams. If necessary: opening requisitions in RPM, working with the studio recruiting team or reallocating existing staff to ensure production goals are met.
  • Promoting technical excellence and innovation on the project by leading technical leads, supervising gameplay team leads and their reports, and encouraging the team to pursue ambitious, high-quality solutions with the Core Team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Over 10 years of programming experience (C# / Unity, C++), including at least five years managing video game programming teams
  • Experience in shipping at least one complete game
  • In-depth understanding of video game production (animation, audio, 3D, etc.) and the realities of different working teams
  • Excellent command of programming principles
  • Leadership skills and a team spirit, supported by strong communication abilities
  • An empathetic approach to stress management in a dynamic environment (there’s always a solution, and you know it)
  • An open and innovative mindset, coupled with strong analytical skills
  • A teaching approach and the desire to share your extensive technical expertise
