Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.

Let us introduce the role

AWE is currently recruiting for an IS&S Delivery Support Specialist to join the IS Modernisation team.

You will be responsible for providing administrational and technical support, overseeing, co-ordinating and implementing all business and governance processes, business-related activities and technical document support dedicated to a specific IS&S function.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support and aid the IS&S function to modernise and bring new Information Technology capabilities to AWE.
  • Work as part of a team supporting the technical leads on enabling the function to create a digitally transformed working environment that AWE needs for the future capabilities.
  • Act as business area specialist capable of supporting the effective communication, and engagement approach to support the IS&S role at AWE and able to explain the technology being used, in accordance with corporate strategies and business objectives.
  • Specialise in bettering support to the IS function in delivery, measurement and monitoring of business operations, capabilities, and services to ensure maturity and improvements are achieved.
  • Lead the support activities in the development and implementation of technology plans to enable the delivery of business operations initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of assigned IT specific Projects and Programmes in accordance with requirements, operational constraints, time, cost, and quality to make business improvements to the IT ways of working at AWE.
  • Be lead in supporting the teams covering a range of different activities to keep our IT systems running for the business.
  • Lead the support of the IS&S business area function advocating the Cyber Security critical mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing IT business support on reporting business area.
  • Support the IS&S business function with a delivery of services to an agreed standard and to optimise efficiency.
  • Contribute to plans and procedures for the ongoing success and the effectiveness of the technology service provision.
  • Communicate and share best practice and highlight common problems and joint solutions.
  • Enable the IT service delivery of integrated services to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Ensure service delivery efficiency by implementing quality and process improvements.
  • Oversee IT administrative functions.
  • Identify IS&S business process improvement opportunities that will support cost savings.
  • Maintain and develop stakeholder relationships.

Important things you need to know:

  • You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.

Due to the classified nature of the work involved, there are limited opportunities to work from home in this role. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working on site at AWE Aldermaston.
