Brief Description
We have a six-month Secondment / Fixed Term Contract opportunity here in the Southern Region HR team. Based at London Blackfriars, in this role, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with our Kent Operations Team to bring our People Plan to life, driving a high-performance culture and providing expert HR support on a range of operational and strategic initiatives.
About the role (External)
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering Strategic HR Initiatives: You'll implement the HR Strategy and People Plan, focusing on talent development, succession planning, and change management, all designed to support our business objectives and enhance performance.
- Building Strong Partnerships: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing coaching and HR expertise to drive effective people management solutions.
- Providing Hands-On HR Support: Be a key HR point of contact for initiatives like organizational change, senior appointments, and talent programs, ensuring a seamless, client-responsive approach.
- Collaborating Across Teams: Work closely with our broader HR team and Centres of Expertise, as well as with Union representatives, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Championing People Management: Empower line managers to own their people management responsibilities, reinforcing a high-touch, high-impact HR service model.
What You’ll Bring
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Commercial Mindset: Deep understanding of business needs, with a strong record of partnering effectively with senior managers.
- Influence & Impact: Skilled in coaching and influencing senior leaders, you bring proven experience in implementing best-practice HR solutions that drive results.
- HR Expertise: CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience), with strong technical HR knowledge and experience in complex HR environments.
- Communication & Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a natural ability to negotiate, influence, and engage at all levels.
- Organizational Change Expertise: Hands-on experience with organizational change, including TUPE, organizational redesign, and redundancy programs.
Desired Skills
- Advanced HR Credentials: MCIPD or post-graduate HR qualifications.
- Project Management Prowess: Proven experience in managing complex projects to successful outcomes.
- Unionized Environment Experience: Familiarity with unionized workplaces, enhancing your ability to drive collaborative solutions.
