Vacancy Details

Duration: Secondment or Fixed Term Contract for 12 months with the potential to be extended. (Please note, secondments are subject to line manager approval, please discuss this with them before applying).

Location: This role is based in Milton Keynes we are typically in the office at least once per week (usually on a Tuesday). You must live within 90 minutes.This role is a full-time opportunity, flexible working patterns will be considered.

Band & Salary: Band 4C, Salary £43,588 - £49,036

Brief Description

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for an experienced HR Business Partner with employee relations experience who is passionate about building strong, collaborative relationships with senior leaders and helping drive business success through effective people management. You’ll bring a commercial mindset and the ability to align HR strategy with business needs, while working to develop and retain top talent.

You should be confident in coaching, influencing, and partnering with senior managers to achieve business goals. We’re also looking for someone with experience in organisational change (e.g., TUPE, restructuring, or redundancy programmes) and the ability to thrive in complex work environments.

A CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience) is essential, and most importantly, we want someone who’s excited to make a real impact by supporting our people and business. If you’re ready to take the next step in your HR career, we’d love to hear from you!

About the role (External)

What does the average day look like?

As an HR Business Partner, your day starts with a focus on implementing and delivering the HR Strategy and People Plan in close collaboration with the supported business. You’ll engage with senior leadership to discuss talent management, succession planning, and change initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives. You’ll be spending time building strong relationships with your stakeholders, coaching and advising business leaders all HR issues, whilst challenging when necessary.

Throughout the day, you work on delivering client-responsive, cost-effective people solutions that address key business goals, gaining buy-in from stakeholders. You’ll highlight the importance of people management ownership amongst line managers and actively support the HR delivery model.

Collaboration is key; you’ll connect with the broader HR function, Centers of Expertise, Resourcing and shared services, to ensure the best solutions are provided. You also liaise with Union representatives to navigate and implement effective business solutions.

Essential Criteria

·Proven experience of working in partnership and building strong working relationships with senior managers in to improve people management

·You’ll demonstrate strong business/commercial approach and understanding of business needs.

·Passionate about customer service with ability to articulate previous achievements through business deliverables.

·Knowledge and experience of implementing best practice HR solutions

·Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence effectively with all levels of an organisation alongside coaching and influencing senior managers.

·Understands how to work with the business to identify, develop and retain talent.

·Excellent technical HR Knowledge - CIPD qualified or relevant experience to demonstrate level of competence.

·Proven track record of operating in a complex working environment.

·Involvement in organisation change programmes e.g. TUPE, Organisation re-design,  redundancy programmes, etc
