In the Netherlands, we are located in seven cities: Huizen, Delft, Eindhoven, Breda, Rotterdam, Amersfoort and Hengelo (HQ). Together with an extensive ecosystem of knowledge partners, customers and suppliers, we work on radars for naval vessels, cyber security solutions, transportation systems, communication equipment for land forces, cryogenic cooling solutions, research & development for serious gaming (in collaboration with the University of Twente) and banking and payment solutions.
Thales Digital Identification Systems (DIS) is one of the Global Business Units located in the Netherlands where people daily contribute to improving Digital Identification products such as banking cards, Identity Cards and Digital Access (IAM).
All DIS locations (Rotterdam, Breda, Amersfoort, Huizen) combined have a total population of 140 employees.
About the team
The Human Resources department is responsible for all employee related activities in the broadest sense. We Drive the business to succeed and achieve their goals with specific focus at Talent Management, Leadership development, D&Y, Learning Culture. The HR Department therefore plays a vital role to the success of the organization. The Dutch HR department is multi-disciplinary and exists off HR Directors, HR Business Partners, HR Shared Service Centre, together with a number of Centers of Excellence (CoE).
For the DIS locations in Rotterdam, Amersfoort, Breda and Huizen we are looking for a HR Business Partner DIS NL. There is no primary location, hence you can work from any of these offices as you wish. Although we expect that you work on site at least three times per week. The other days can be worked from home.
About your future job
Thales DIS is a relatively new GBU within Thales and growing fast and after an internal move we are in need for an HR business partner. As HR business partner you will continue with the alignment of all DIS locations to one Thales policy and HR Procedure. All locations have different backgrounds and therefor needs. Harmonizing labor conditions and policies will be a big project right from your start. It will be your job to provide HR support so managers and employees can be at their best. You’ll be visiting the different sites regularly to provide personal and professional support.
As an HR Business Partner, you have a varied job, managing the process of constant change with an eye for innovation. Thinking out-of-the-box and thinking along about cultural changes within the organization are also aspects that come to light in your role. You are part of a team of 10 other HR Business Partners each with their own specialism. Within the HR Team you can brainstorm and further develop your HR knowledge and skills.
Your week as an HR Business Partner starts with the entire HR NL team, to keep each other informed about the most important projects and share relevant information during the stand-up meeting. During the working week you are regularly in conversation with different parties within the organization. In your role you are constantly switching between the interests and needs of the organization, the employees and managers. You are a sparring partner for department managers, covering various HR-related topics, the (expected) staffing, professional and personal development programs, administrative matters, outflow and absenteeism. You also provide support, coach and challenge in the field of Performance Management and Professional Development. And let’s not forget you easily create your own future by taking responsibility in a variety of (business)topics.

You are able to keep the overview and ‘challenge’ the interests of managers, employees and other stakeholders in an international environment. You proactively and operationally contribute in obtaining the organizational goals by translating HR goals and questions into practical solutions. Besides acting as an interlocutor, it is important that you can easily connect with your colleagues in the HR department in a complex and dynamic environment and take ownership.
What you are able to offer:
- A degree HBO-/WO towards HRM/Business Administration;
- Approximately three years’ experience as HR advisor, preferably within a complex international matrix organization;
- Knowledge of HR-instruments;
- Self-reliant, independent and self-learning capability;
- A flexible and agile mindset with capability to switch to as needed;
- A valuable interlocutor who can easily switch between different levels and stakeholders;
- Excellent communication skills, honorable, customer oriented, take initiatives, team player;
- Flexibility and drive to achieve desired outcomes in a VUCA environment.
- Is ready for a new challenge within a nice team to achieve results together;
- Good knowledge of the English & Dutch language;
