Job Type: Permanent
Location: Wythall (Birmingham) 2 days a week with hybrid working

Salary: Up to £135k depending on experience, plus 30% bonus up to 60%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more
We have an incredible opportunity here at Phoenix Group as a Head of Financial Reporting to join our Financial Reporting Centre and lead a large team.

The role
The successful individual will provide strategic leadership of financial reporting, delivering regulatory and UKGAAP reporting for the life entities and regulatory and IFRS 17 results for Group reporting. You will lead delivery of integrated processes, embedding and strengthening IFRS 17 capabilities. Leadership of cross-functional planning to deliver an efficient and collaborative end to end financial reporting process.
In addition you will oversee development of accounting and regulatory advice, production and review of final reports and papers for senior management, including the Board. You will drive changes to the reporting function from the evolution of business, best practices and changes to regulation / standards. This will include the evolution of key financial metrics to support the business Value Centres.
You will deputise for the Director of Financial Operations and Reporting at steering committees, forums and the Board.
What are we looking for?
You will be a Qualified Accountant with significant experience post qualification and have membership of an accountancy body.
You will bring knowledge and experience of life company accounting & reporting, including strong knowledge of IFRS and Solvency II.
You will have the ability to communicate financial information to wider stakeholders you will have the ability to lead strategic change and drive process improvements.
You will be leading a large team and so will bring significant leadership experience and a growth mindset. You will enjoy working in a changing environment and bring excellent planning and organisation skills with ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
