Join Duolingo’s content program management team to help scale Duolingo course content for beginners through advanced learners.

We are looking for a world-class operational leader who can build on recent successes in scaling Duolingo course content to help develop a large-scale subject-agnostic AI-powered content machine. You’ll help us plan, develop, and launch high-quality learning content to our key markets in our language learning courses, or our new subjects such as Math and Music. You will partner with our curriculum developers on processes and quality, and with engineering and product on internal tooling. You will also work with R&D to transition successful new content types to be ready for scaling.

If you have established expertise in developing efficient processes and driving high-output operations at scale, as well as strong management experience, this job is for you.   • Establish and implement a vision for content systems and AI integration– defining success, setting roadmaps, and using AI and automation to deliver new learning content at scale while maintaining educational excellence;
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives at the intersection of learning, product, and engineering — delivering high-quality learning experiences based on deep understanding of learning value, technical complexity, and business goals;
  • Identify the critical resources for scaling initiatives to succeed, both in terms of people and technology, and drive prioritization;
  • Manage a team of program managers.

  • People management experience. You have experience hiring and developing a team of program management staff.
  • Program management experience. You have demonstrated strong operational leadership, such as experience building and scaling processes from the ground up.
  • Collaboration skills. Partner with functions across the company—such as engineering, product management, content development, and executive leadership—to ensure alignment across teams and stakeholders.
  • Tech-savviness. You are curious about new technologies, exploring new ways for you and your teams to increase efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • 5-10 years of experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • MBA from a top-tier business school, or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong leadership and track record of caring people management
  • Excellent project management skills and experience leading large-scale projects
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • A desire to make the world a better place through technology
  • Ability to work full-time from or relocate to New York City, NY or Pittsburgh, PA

  • Experience working in content development and/or edtech
  • Understanding of content management system (CMS) technologies.

We post a multi-level salary range for all of our roles.

This is not inclusive of the rest of our awesome portfolio that includes equity compensation and world-class benefits. Our salary ranges are the same for all US locations. Your recruiter can share more details about the range for a specific level during the hiring process. The actual salary within the range is determined by many factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.

Salary Range:

$158,400—$284,400 USD
