Only considering candidates eligible to work in Montreal, Canada ⚠️

As a Game Director on Rainbow Six Siege, you will transform a creative vision into a variety of systems and mechanics that combine to create an engaging gameplay experience. You will convey high-level directives to your team so they can design the game features they are responsible for, giving them the flexibility to experiment and iterate.

While the design team focuses on their specialties, you will oversee the big picture—progression, pacing, balance, and, of course, game quality. You will ensure that all design-related elements work together coherently to deliver the intended experience and fun.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with creative leadership and management team members to define the game and unify visions
  • Develop your game design vision and communicate (and showcase) it within production
  • Support your game designers in developing features (e.g., game mechanics, progression systems, combat systems, weapon attributes, AI behaviors, 3C, etc.) by providing mentoring and constructive feedback to achieve high quality
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesion of conceptual, technical, graphical, and narrative elements
  • Evaluate and discuss budgets and timelines with the Producer and keep the editorial team informed of progress and milestones
  • Adapt to technical and production constraints, feedback, and playtest results by adjusting your design direction as needed
  • Monitor features after launch to improve, add, or remove elements, and interpret data to inform decision-making
  • Occasionally travel locally and internationally to present the game, meet external partners, visit co-development studios, etc.
  • Anticipate technological advancements and stay informed of market trends to evolve production processes, define best practices, and share them across studios

Qualifications:

  • Approximately 7 years of game design experience or other relevant experience, plus 3 years in leadership
  • Experience on competitive live shooter games
  • In-depth knowledge of game engines (e.g., Unity or Unreal) and their limitations; Photoshop; and Office suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
  • A degree in Game Design or equivalent experience
  • Innovative, empathetic, creative, and collaborative mindset
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, problem-solving, organizational, and mentoring skills
  • Critical thinking, curiosity, resourcefulness, and strong flexibility
  • Ability to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Knowledge of online gaming communities and live streaming platforms (e.g., Twitch)
  • Extensive understanding of the market and a passion for video games
