What you will do:

  • In partnership with the Game Director and Lead Game Designer, provide direction to a multidisciplinary team for Enemy Designs and Core AI Systems;
  • Create interesting and ground-breaking enemy archetypes, pushing for quality at every level (Art, Animation, Audio, etc);
  • Prototype, polish and balance enemies while collaborating on a daily basis with the Combat Designers to guarantee the best melee combat experience possible;
  • Provide precise feedback to quickly iterate on features with the entire Enemy Archetypes team;
  • Document the AI systems, behaviors and various functionalities quickly, clearly and concisely in order to serve as a resource for the other professions in the project.

What you bring:

  • + 3 years of experience in the video game industry as an AI or Combat Game Designer DEC or Bachelor in Game Design or related experience;
  • Contemporary knowledge or modern AI and Combat Design;
  • Must know what makes good Enemy Archetypes and Combat Systems;
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English;
  • Experience in writing AI and Combat design documentation;
  • Experience in creating and maintaining AI Behaviors in a game engine (through Behavior Trees or other similar tools);
  • Ability to prototype and iterate quickly;
  • Knowledge of Unreal 5 is an asset.
