About the Role

Are you a versatile developer who enjoys solving complex problems across the full web stack, from front-end UX to back-end integrations and infrastructure? Do you value clear communication, thoughtful execution, and building systems that actually work in the real world?

Xponent21 is seeking a Full Stack Web Developer to support a wide range of client projects across marketing, web, and growth initiatives. You’ll work primarily with WordPress (including Theme.co Pro), while also contributing to projects on platforms like Shopify, Webflow, React-based sites, October, Contentful, and other modern frameworks and CMSs.

This role is ideal for a developer who is not only technically capable, but highly communicative, reliable, and proactive — someone who keeps stakeholders informed, flags blockers early, tracks time accurately, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work on deadline.

You’ll collaborate closely with Account Strategists, designers, and content teams, and play a key role in integrating third-party tools, automations, and AI-assisted workflows into client websites and systems.

If you enjoy variety, value transparency, and want to work with a team that respects strong development practices, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance websites across multiple platforms, with a strong emphasis on WordPress and custom development (Theme.co Pro experience a plus).
  • Implement front-end and back-end functionality with a focus on performance, security, scalability, and usability.
  • Build and maintain custom integrations with third-party tools, including CRMs, marketing platforms, analytics tools, and automation services.
  • Perform DNS configuration and domain-related updates, including hosting migrations and environment setup.
  • Collaborate with strategists, designers, and content teams to translate requirements into reliable, well-documented technical solutions.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively about task status, timelines, blockers, and dependencies — especially when additional information, access, or time is needed.
  • Log time accurately and consistently for all work to support ad hoc and project-based billing.
  • Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues, and integration challenges across development and production environments.
  • Support ongoing website maintenance, updates, and technical optimizations.
  • Follow established workflows using tools like Asana, Freshdesk, Slack, and Git-based version control (e.g., GitHub) to ensure smooth collaboration and delivery.
  • Explore and experiment with AI tools and workflows relevant to development, automation, and efficiency improvements.
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews to ensure all work meets client and agency standards.

Success in this role will be measured by technical quality, reliability, communication clarity, on-time delivery, and accurate time tracking.

Skills Required

  • 3–5+ years of experience as a full stack or web developer.
  • Strong experience with WordPress development, including custom themes and plugins (Theme.co Pro familiarity is a bonus).
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Working experience with Git-based version control in collaborative development environments (e.g., GitHub).
  • Experience supporting or contributing to sites built on platforms such as Shopify, Webflow, React, October, or Contentful.
  • Comfort with DNS management, hosting environments, and deployment workflows.
  • Experience integrating third-party tools, APIs, CRMs, and marketing platforms.
  • Working familiarity with marketing analytics, including Google Analytics, conversion tracking, and marketing pixel implementation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically to diagnose issues and optimize solutions.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and proactively, including providing status updates and escalating blockers early.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, including accurate and consistent time tracking.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
  • High level of reliability, responsiveness, and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Desired Skills/Bonus Points (Not Required, But Valued)

  • Experience working with WooCommerce and associated extensions.
  • Familiarity with conversion rate optimization (CRO) concepts and implementation.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Zapier or Make.
  • Background working in a marketing agency or client services environment.
  • Experience with performance optimization, security best practices, and accessibility standards.
  • Interest in AI-assisted development tools and emerging workflows.
  • U.S.-based or East Coast–based candidates strongly preferred.
