About the role:

Forter is looking for a highly motivated Analyst to join its Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”) team. The FP&A team manages short- and long-term planning and partners with the business to analyze opportunities and support P&L management.

Reporting directly to the Manager of FP&A, the FP&A Analyst will own the revenue forecast, perform variance analysis, and forecast other key contributors to gross margin. Additionally, the FP&A analyst will support management and investor reporting packages, prepare regular reporting as well as top-line metric modeling for critical KPIs. Other activities will include working with cross-functional business partners to understand operational inputs to the revenue outlook, as well as working with other finance teams such as Business Intelligence (“BI”), Investor Relations, and Accounting.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can execute deliverables independently, has careful attention to data integrity, can think analytically about key company value drivers, and is comfortable working with large data sets. Additionally, the ideal candidate enjoys contributing to a small team and is excited to work in a dynamic and fast-paced scale-up environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop financial models to support top-line financial forecasting and ad hoc analysis for key insights
  • Drive comprehensive revenue analysis and commentary, ensuring performance and business drivers are appropriately understood and meaningful action items identified
  • Analyze financial performance and identify trends, opportunities, and risks
  • Assist in the development of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages including board and investor presentations
  • Support tracking of key KPIs and contribute to the development and testing of new KPI definitions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to integrate operational developments into our financial outlook
  • Help craft answers and a deep understanding of business performance over time, which will support senior finance leadership and investor relations

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-3 years professional experience in financial planning & analysis or related experience
  • Experience in software revenue forecasting role; usage-based revenue modeling is a plus
  • Experience in the finance department of a public company is a plus
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition policies
  • Ability to think critically about a business and understand the key value drivers
  • Ability to analyze large data sets, infer and communicate key takeaways
  • Master in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Netsuite and visualization tools such as Tableau, Qliksense or similar system preferred
  • Proficient in SQL; Python is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, with dedication and ownership over quality of deliverables
  • Collaborative, positive attitude and eagerness to learn

Salary Range: $98,000 - $123,000 annually + bonus + equity + benefits

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, and skill level.
