How You Will Make An Impact

The Financial Systems Analyst will play a crucial role in developing the revenue forecasting model for thredUP's core marketplace. In this position, you'll report to the Finance Analytics Manager and collaborate closely with the Product Management, Data Science and FinTech teams to optimize and build new automated models that help guide the internal stakeholders. This role will require experience in SQL and Python/R to perform data analysis and build revenue forecasting models among others. You'll manage financial data to extract valuable insights.

As a Financial Systems Analyst, your primary responsibilities will involve modeling revenue for thredUP's Core Marketplace and providing comprehensive financial reporting and analysis. You'll delve into detailed statistical analysis of revenue drivers to improve revenue models, employing sophisticated mathematical and statistical techniques. By tracking and evaluating financial performance metrics such as customers, pricing trends, and conversion rates, you'll contribute to the company's success

In This Role You’ll Get To:

  • Provide key data insights that help model revenue for our Core Marketplace and provide automation in our financial reporting and analysis
  • Provide in depth analysis on revenue drivers that will input into the revenue model (new customers, pricing trends, conversion rates, sessions)
  • Partner with Merchandise Science and Analytics team to align business trends into revenue forecast
  • Maintain financial reporting on key revenue metrics - discounts, pricing, returns, etc to help the executive team hit their quarterly goals
  • Develop new processes and tools to drive scalable analysis and insights

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of demonstrated ability as part of an analytics team
  • 3+ years experience working with a programming language such as Python or R
  • Fluent in SQL and advanced proficiency with Excel / Google Sheets
  • Prior experience working in a Retail environment a plus
  • Ability to effectively work with business and product leads; strong cross-functional communication skills that help push projects forward and encourage the development of new collaborations
  • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data
  • Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization
  • Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex datasets
  • Evaluate organizational methods and provide source-to-target mappings and information-model specification documents for datasets
  • Innate curiosity and drive to find insights that unlock new growth or efficiency – you can’t help but dig in and seek the truth
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools like Looker.
  • Experience in looker development,LookML and Google Sheets AppScripts is a plus.
  • Well-rounded skill set that includes some of each of the following statistical analysis techniques: linear regression, time series analysis, experimental design, hypothesis testing, and A/B testing

At thredUP, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $95,000 and $160,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Many thredUP employees also have the opportunity to own shares of thredUP stock. thredUP employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing thredUP stock if voluntarily participating in thredUP’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
