Job Type: Permanent

Location: This role could be based in either our Edinburgh, Wythall (Birmingham) or Telford offices with time spent working in the office and at home.

The role

You’ll join our Technical & Oversight Team within Financial Reporting to provide professional accountancy and regulatory advice across all business processes ensuring that our organisation meets its regulatory, reputational, and commercial requirements.

You’ll be responsible for providing technical accounting and regulatory reporting to contribute to a compliant end to end financial reporting process. Managing the environment for impacts on Phoenix Life’s financial reporting and control technical issues across the department.

As part of this role, you’ll produce high quality papers providing sound analysis and recommendations fit for all levels of stakeholder/governance. Producing quality departmental updates to Boards on behalf of Life Finance by co-ordinating the relevant inputs, coordinating suppliers and contributing to the review process as well as co-ordinating KPI, KRI, risk and control reporting across the Financial Reporting team.

You’ll also get the opportunity to support the technical accounting needs of our business change projects and external developments.

What are we looking for?

You’ll be a Qualified Accountant with a background in audit with experience of producing sound technical accounting analysis.

You’ll be able to communicate confidently, asserting influence at all levels and across functions, with other areas of the business.  You’ll be able to present information requests and financial data in an easily understandable manner.

We’re looking for someone with excellent organisational ability and who can work under pressure to tight deadlines.
