Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Financial Analyst to join us in the pursuit of top-tier financial performance. This position will report to the Manager of Technical Accounting & SOX and will have the following responsibilities:
- Research ASC 842 codification in support of non-routine lease transactions.
- Support contract EAC and profitability reviews. Provide guidance on revenue recognition and performance obligation conclusions reached under ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers.
- Serve as ASC 842 Lease Accounting subject matter expert to review routine and non-routine lease transactions.
- Draft accounting position papers summarizing technical accounting issues, application of accounting guidance to the company, alternatives available and recommendations.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting data and analysis in support of the company’s U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) disclosure requirements.
- Prepare routine and non-routine journal entries in SAP and HFM.
- Prepare periodic filings and related schedules in support of the Sector’s state incentives agreements.
- Support special projects on an ad hoc basis.
- Liaise with auditors by providing requested PBC items and thoroughly responding to questions in support of the audit.
- Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and documentation.
- Support the development of presentations for Division and Sector leadership.
- Interface and coordinate with business, program, and sector personnel to drive process changes and resolve Sector wide issues.
- Mentor and act as a resource to junior members of the team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related discipline with 8 years of accounting, audit, and/or business management experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years of stated experience.
- Public Accounting experience (each year of relevant Public Accounting experience counts for 2 years of experience above).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA License/CPA Candidate in the near term
- Experience with SAP and/or HFM
- SEC reporting experience
- Excellent knowledge of US GAAP
- Active DoD Secret clearance
Salary Range: $109,900 - $164,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
