To support the Head of FAL Change, Data and Control with the implementation and running of key data controls for any data accepted and used within Finance. Ensuring that said data is valid, accurate, complete and delivered on a timely basis to support Group and Statutory reporting.

We’reseekinga detail-oriented and proactive Finance, Data & Control Manager to join our Finance team. In this role you willsupport the Head ofChange, Data and ControlforFinance, Actuarial and Legal(FAL)in implementing a robust Finance Data Control Framework.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part ensuring the accuracy,completenessand timeliness of financial data, and make a meaningful impact onboth Groupand Statutory reporting.
Your New Role
Your natural ability to build strong relationshipswill result inmeaningfulcollaborationwitha variety ofkeystakeholdersacross Finance,Actuarial, Finance Systems,ReinsuranceFinance andOperations, IT,internal and external Audit.As part ofthewider modernisation initiatives,you’llalsocontinuously seek opportunitiesfor continuous improvement andtolead data resolutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and overseesource-to-target reconciliations across all Finance data sources, including underwriting, claims and reinsurance inputs, via aBusiness Event or a Pass-Through Journal
- Manage data interdependenciesensuringalignment withfunctions such as Actuarial&the core Data team,includingexecution of the ‘3-way reconciliation’ anddiscrepancyresolution
- Monitor and control manual source data adjustments, and drive remediation of process&IT issues toeliminatemanual workarounds
- Escalate risks related to data misstatements,controlweaknessesor process failures to theChiefAccounting Officer, and raise Insight (Risk Tool) issuesasappropriate
- Support monthly close processesby preparingtimelyandaccuratedata validation artefactsfor Finance
- Contribute to the production of monthly and quarterly management reports, QBE Group reporting packages, and associated audit documentation
- Support Modernisation initiatives by providing SME inputs, leading processdesignand transition into business-as-usual
About You
- Experience working withDatawithin any industry; FinancialServices is preferable
- Extensiveexperience in financial data management, controlframeworksand reconciliation processes
- Strong understanding of financial reporting,financesystemsand data flows, withexperience resolvinglegacy data issues
- Proficiencyin managing data interdependencies,with ability tomonitorand remediate manual data adjustments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellentcommunicator with strongstakeholderengagement skillsacross cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook),andfamiliarity withdigitaltooling(PowerBI, SQL, Alteryx)is preferable
