Expert IT Solution Architect

Purpose and activities

The sought profile, as an Expert IT Solution Architect, will support the architectural and application evolution of IT solutions through the integration of Generative AI technologies, with particular attention to the design of agentic architectures such as LLM-powered agents and tool-based systems. The role focuses on IT process efficiency, solution scalability and their compliance with security and regulatory constraints.

You will work within the ISY Tech Evolution Directorate, in the Chief Data, A.I. and Technology Officer governance area of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, and will support the design of innovative solutions, collaborating with colleagues who handle the design and functional aspects of GenAI solutions for IT processes.

Main activities:

• Design innovative application architectures that integrate GenAI agents, such as toolformer, action planner, knowledge-aware agents, to support and automate IT processes, including change management and application support
• Define agentic flows, orchestration policies, context management, tool repositories and multi-agent interactions within enterprise-ready GenAI solutions
• Support project teams in choosing the most suitable technologies, balancing performance, explainability, cost and operational sustainability
• Collaborate in defining AI governance policies, contributing to the safe, responsible and traceable adoption of AI agents in the banking domain
• Promote automation of IT and operational processes, contributing to their modernization through intelligent pipelines, classifiers, generative engines and controlled environments
• Encourage the integration of AI solutions with the existing technology ecosystem, including APIs, microservices, orchestration tools and data platforms
• Ensure regulatory and architectural compliance, taking into account the AI Act and internal policies.

Required experience

3-5 years of experience in software development and application architectures in regulated contexts, with involvement in AI projects, preferably in banking, financial or credit sectors.

Required qualifications, skills and competencies

• Degree or specialist diploma in computer-science-related fields: mathematics, physics, computer engineering
• English level: Intermediate
• Experience in designing or integrating solutions based on LLM models and agentic architectures
• Knowledge of Python and Java, with use of NLP/ML frameworks
• Familiarity with orchestration principles and tool management for agents
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservice architectures, messaging and orchestration systems
• Big Data and Data Lake environments, particularly handling sensitive data
• Proficiency with versioning and CI/CD tools: Git and Artifactory
• Knowledge of AI governance principles, auditability, explainability and risk mitigation of generative models

Preferable

• AI and ML services from cloud providers Azure and GCP
• Hybrid architectures, secure data access systems and AI monitoring & observability tools
• Open source frameworks for AI agent orchestration
• Cross-functional skills in DevSecOps tools, ITIL processes, or MLOps environments
