  • $91,222pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading (increasing to $94,415pa effective 1 July 2024) Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 5 of EBA5
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days.
  • Location: Caboolture

About our opportunity

Our Development Services team are shaping a better Moreton Bay by assessing and managing the effects of development on the community and environment of Moreton Bay, working in partnership with the development industry to design and construct infrastructure for the community as well as levying and recovering infrastructure charges to fund new and upgraded major community infrastructure.

About the role:

As an Engineer within the Development Services team, you will provide routine technical advice and undertake the engineering assessment of low complexity development matters and the impact of development on transport and stormwater infrastructure. You will be a team player and contribute to a positive team environment in order to achieve a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused culture.

In addition, you’ll:

  • support the coordination of the development assessment process and the recovery of the cost of infrastructure, including negotiation of routine infrastructure agreements
  • undertake site inspections and investigations to support the engineering assessment of development applications including resolution of transport and stormwater issues
  • conduct research and analysis and prepare development application recommendations
  • engage proactively with key stakeholders to ensure quality service outcomes are achieved.

About you:

We are seeking some who has knowledge and experience in the delivery of engineering assessment and compliance services and well-developed influencing skills and the ability to negotiate routine infrastructure and other commercial agreements.

To be successful in this role you must possess a Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. You will hold a Drivers Licence and a Construction Induction Card competency that has been used or obtained within the past 2 years or be willing to obtain prior to commencement.

You will have:

  • knowledge in the principles and practices relating to the planning, design and construction of transport and stormwater infrastructure
  • knowledge of the State Planning Policy, the SEQ Regional Plan, the Planning scheme, and the Adopted infrastructure Charge Resolution and experience applying relevant planning and development legislation and policy.
  • well-developed communication skills to meet the needs of a range of internal and external stakeholders with the ability to work in a positive team environment communicating and engaging effectively at all levels
