Your territory

As part of our Firmware team, you will:

  • Develop world-class embedded firmware that powers millions of GPS trackers and keeps pets safe every day
  • Focus on GNSS technologies such as GPS, Galileo and BeiDou to deliver accurate, reliable tracking and great battery life
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for features - from complex concept development to seamless real-world performance
  • Partner with our in-house Architects to prepare and implement new firmware features
  • Collaborate closely with Backend, Tech Support, and QA teams, while independently driving your projects forward
  • Analyze GNSS / GPS performance in real-world scenarios and translate insights into firmware optimizations and new features
  • Participate in retrospectives and continuously improve our development processes
  • Bring in your fresh ideas to make Tractive better - you’ll never hear the phrase “...because that’s how we’ve always done things”
  • Continuously grow personally and professionally, take ownership of areas that show your potential, and attend workshops which help you get to the next level

Your profile

Key requirements:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware development
  • Deep understanding of GNSS principles, protocols, and standards
  • Hands-on experience with GNSS chipsets and modules
  • Experience with version control tools and best practices like Clean Code and Unit Testing
  • Track record in larger firmware projects, ideally within SCRUM-based, cross-functional teams
  • Very good English skills
