About Auror

At Auror, we’re empowering the retail industry to tackle theft and Organised Retail Crime, a $150 Billion problem globally. It’s high volume crime that’s increasingly organised in nature and is putting people, retailers, and communities at risk every day.

Founded in New Zealand 11 years ago, we’re working with some of the best and largest retailers in the world across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.

Auror is connecting people and intelligence to reduce crime. We’re using technology for good.

In partnership with our leading retail partners, we need people with the passion, determination, and innovation required to overcome one of the world's largest problems. If you’re looking to make a difference with and for the people dedicated to stopping crime, for good, then we want you on our team.

The Role

The Director of Product Marketing leads how we bring our suite of products to market to drive demand, adoption, and overall commercial success. You’ll work closely with our regional sales and customer leads, product leaders, and growth streams to build end-to-end product go-to-market (GTM) momentum from conception to customer value. This is a first-of-its-kind role at Auror, and an exciting opportunity to build a world-class product marketing function from the ground up as we look to convert our product investments into ARR and raving retail and law enforcement partners.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design, build and lead a world-class product marketing function at Auror that product marketing managers crave to be a part of to develop their skills and grow their careers.
  • Drive product launches, including release cadence, messaging and positioning, communications (in collaboration with Customer Success and PR), enablement, and assets.
  • Integrate and enhance product positioning into brand and go-to-market in the context of customer needs, market and competition. This includes helping prospective customers understand the value of our product modules, and existing customers realising the value from new releases.
  • Collaborate with customer and product to ensure a differentiated, customer-value-driven, marketable and revenue-driving product roadmap.
  • Enable marketing, sales, and customer success teams on product positioning and launch messaging.
  • Develop and maintain deep and effective competitive intelligence including competitive messaging, battlecards, collateral and win stories, and displacement plays and campaigns.
  • Help extend and enhance our thought leadership position internally and externally through speaking opportunities, content, events, webinars, user groups and other engagements.
  • Work with marketing and growth teams to develop and implement acquisition, activation, and monetization strategies to drive significant user and revenue growth.
  • Help create effective and powerful demo sequences and support product in creating best-in-class demos and demo environments

This role reports to Marcus Hoefliger, VP of Marketing, and will partner closely with Heather Legg, Director of Product.

Born to a Swiss father, and a Maori mother of Te Arawa descent, I’m a little different, and I love it. At the time of writing this, I’ll be splitting my time between being a Dad to two lil lads under 3, sport and mountain bike addict, wannabe chef, and helping Auror empower more retailers around the world to stop crime, for good. I’m excited (like really excited) to work with talented, caring, driven and ambitious people who want to elevate themselves, their peers, and Auror to new heights.

About you

  • 8+ years of proven product marketing leadership in a B2B SaaS, enterprise sales motion environment.
  • Enjoys bigger picture thinking as much as getting hands-on with all the things.
  • Deep and demonstrated understanding of marketing, sales and product processes
  • Excellent ability to synthesize technical and marketing content to create effective and powerful messaging in verbal, written or presentation forms
  • Self-starting, self-directed leader ready to define and execute strategy and be a strong collaborator across sales, marketing, product and executive teams
  • Technically strong with the ability to understand and communicate effectively with developers, marketers, legal and other internal and external personas
  • Confident getting to know the product inside out and translating the value of new releases from the ‘how it works’ to why it matters
  • Excellent prioritization, time management, team management and expectation management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

We are looking for people who demonstrate a strong alignment to our Guiding Principles (you can find these on our Careers page).

Auror is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible application process to all candidates and we are actively working to improve diversity within the tech industry. We celebrate diversity and inclusiveness at Auror, regardless of (but not limited to) race, gender, sexual orientation, family status, religion, ethnicity, national origin, physical disability, veteran status, or age.

If you need adjustments to any part of our recruitment process because of accessibility reasons, please do not hesitate to let us know during the application process. We will work with you to identify adjustments that will allow you to perform at your best.

  • Competitive salary Range: Depending on level of experience of $150,000-$168,000 (PL5)
  • Employee share scheme: You’ll own part of a company making a real difference!
  • Flexibility: We are hard-working and outcome focused, but recognise there is more to life than work. We promote a healthy work/life blend.
  • Shorter work weeks (at full pay): Everyone gets Friday afternoons off, so you can start your weekend early, and do more of whatever it is that makes you happy.
  • Focus on mental and physical health: We understand how vital our health is and have policies to support your wellness, including: Wellness Days,  and up to three expert sessions paid for every year.
  • Nib health insurance: Auror covers 100% of the cost of your health insurance plan
  • Family-friendly: We offer comprehensive parental leave and benefits for primary and non-primary caregivers, including a baby bonus and meals delivered to your door.
  • Personal growth: We support our team to participate in courses, conferences, or events that will help them develop their skills.
  • Team love: We have regular team lunches and social events where most (if not all) activities are during work hours.

If you’re not sure that you tick all the boxes but feel you’re close to what we’re looking for, please apply anyway! We’re proud that Auror is a place where everyone can learn and grow so we’d love to hear from you.
