The ideal candidate has a blend of strategic finance experience, rigorous financial planning & analysis, and a deep understanding of subscription/retail economics, inventory dynamics, and capital management. This role will own key reporting, forecasting, budgeting, KPI tracking, and scenario planning — turning data into insights that drive strategic decisions.

What You'll Do

Financial Reporting, Planning & Forecasting

  • Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate month-end close, variance explanations, and reconciliations.
  • Drive monthly business-facing financial reporting including but not limited to: key KPI tracking, performance vs plan analyses & sensitivity analyses. Perform the deep dives necessary to establish a clear relationship between operating results → financial results → strategic implications.
  • Build and maintain a suite of short- and long-range financial models (P&L, rolling cash forecast) that enable transparent, robust forecasting.
  • Maintain rolling forecasts and drive regular scenario modeling to stress-test assumptions related to demand, retention, pricing, churn, inventory investment, and cash flows.
  • Drive the annual budgeting process & ongoing budget review conversations, collaborating with cross-functional leaders to set realistic goals and working with leads to monitor budget performance and drive accountability across departments.

Inventory & Cost Economics

  • Serve as the finance counterpart bringing a deep understanding of inventory economics including COGS analysis, inventory investment planning, turns, spoilage/obsolescence forecasting, and related working capital impacts.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to forecast cost trends and impact analyses.

Retail/DTC/Omni-Channel Cash Flows

  • Understand and model omnichannel cash flow dynamics, including subscription revenues, retail deals, payments terms, and fulfillment cost structures.
  • Partner with Commercial, Marketing, and Logistics to translate operational levers into financial impact.

Capital Stack Management

  • Support capital strategy including debt and equity management, capital allocation, bank/credit relationships, and reporting to investors or lenders.
  • Maintain financial models and forecasts that support financing discussions and long-term capital planning.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Communication

  • Present insights and forecasts to senior leadership & external audiences, translating complex financial information into clear, actionable narratives.
  • Mentor and grow a high-performing finance team; refine processes, tools, and dashboards to scale with the business.

What We’ll Love About You

  • 7+ years of progressive finance experience with significant exposure to FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance leadership in high-growth environments (startup or high-scale operating business).
  • Proven track record owning financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, KPI tracking, and long-range planning.
  • Deep understanding of subscription business economics, inventory & cost dynamics, and retail/omnichannel cash flows.
  • Strong modeling skills and comfort with scenario planning and driver-based forecasting.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to present complex analyses clearly to executives and investors.
  • Structured background in investment banking, VC, strategic finance, or similar environments.
  • Huge Plus: Experience with consumer product, ecommerce, DTC, or subscription-centric businesses.
