This role is a great fit for a digital acquisition expert with strategic and project management skills, to work across a variety of products and channels. We are looking for someone with fresh ideas to drive forward our programme and help us achieve our ambitious income targets.

The Direct Marketing Manager will be responsible for managing and developing key existing areas of our work, ensuring our products and marketing are well considered, and delivered effectively and efficiently. In addition they will lead on the development of new products, diversifying our income streams and driving growth within the Direct Marketing programme.

It's an exciting opportunity to join a hardworking and supportive team and make your mark on our existing and future fundraising products. In turn you’ll achieve goals set out in the Direct Marketing strategy, by being innovative, audience led and responsive to change.

The majority of our roles can be performed hybrid which means for this role you may be required to attend the office 2-4 days per month. Travel costs to your contracted office will be at your own expense.

Key Responsibilities

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Campaign Management**

  • Lead on scoping, planning, development and management of Blood Cancer UK’s key direct marketing campaigns. Primarily digital focussed, these will include cause and prize led digital acquisition, across a mix of channels including meta and google PPC.
  • Work with the digital team to ensure digital fundraising has been considered across all campaigns and to deliver implementation of an integrated approach where necessary.

Product Development

  • Lead on the development of new fundraising products, using an insight led approach in line with our innovation framework
  • Plan, develop and roll out direct marketing campaigns to promote the new products, and insight led onward journeys.

Strategy & Financial Management

  • Take ownership of budgeting, reforecasting and long-term financial planning for owned areas of the Direct Marketing team
  • Influence wider planning through the marketing funnel
  • Aid the development and delivery of a long-term Acquisition and Development strategy within Direct Marketing incorporating both prize and cause led fundraising products, ensuring it is innovative, in line with external market trends and meets growth objectives

Team Responsibilities

  • Produce and circulate results reports for all Direct Marketing activities
  • Work closely with Senior Direct Marketing Manager, taking ownership for owned areas of the programme
  • Willingness to share ideas and expertise with the wider team, seeking opportunities to do so
  • Support Senior Direct Marketing Manager on other projects as requested

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Experience of planning, delivering and owning a wide range of individual giving, direct marketing and digital activities. This must include demonstrable experience with meta and google campaigns. |
  • Ability to drive projects forward quickly and efficiently, with a problem-solving mentality to approaching challenges. Capable of making key decisions autonomously within owned areas. |
  • Experience in reporting, forecasting and budgeting, with a strong understanding of the impact of their campaigns on the wider Direct Marketing programme.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership within the Direct Marketing team by sharing expertise, with potential to line manage in the future if required.
  • Takes an innovative approach when optimising existing campaigns, or developing new ones, with demonstrable experience in setting up new products or campaigns.
  • Confident requesting insights and analysis, and using data when making decisions to improve performance
  • Builds and maintains good working relationships with colleagues to foster cross-organisational team spirit and commitment to the organisational strategy
  • Non-deterred by failure, ability to move forward efficiently whilst using learnings to proactively improve on future projects.
  • Experience of managing relationships with external suppliers, ensuring they deliver service of a high standard, to support the performance of our campaigns.

Desirable

  • Understanding of the Gambling Commission and the associated compliance procedures to adhere to – for lotteries, raffles and other gaming products.

Location: Working agile means we changed from having a culture where people are expected to be in the office from 9am to 5pm to one where we’re much more focused on what they deliver.
