Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Contract type: 9 month FTC/ attachment to start November 2024.
Location: The team are hybrid working, and location is flexible but some occasional travel to London W1 or W12 will be required. This role will be reporting to the Executive Product Manager.

Job Purpose
The Proteus/PiCoS team within BS&A (Business Systems & Applications) develop and support a number of business-critical systems at the BBC used to commission, schedule and manage TV and audio programme metadata. We are a multi-disciplinary team, and we follow a Scrum framework where we adhere to industry standards whilst not compromising on quality.
Main Responsibilities
We are looking for a Delivery Manager to join the team, where you will work closely with the Product Manager, Business Analysts, Software Engineers, Testers and Key Stakeholders. Your role will be to plan and oversee the delivery of a new product to help digitise the commissioning specification, whilst maintaining the support and development of our existing systems Proteus (used to manage audio programme metadata) and PiCoS (a new system we have developed to pitch and commission ideas for TV and Audio) that are used by thousands of users internal and external to the BBC.
Are you the right candidate?
We’re keen that you have experience of working in an Agile-based environment with experience of Scrum and Kanban. You will demonstrate experience in applying Agile principles in practice.
This is a crucial role within the team and involves core responsibilities such as:
- Delivery planning and estimating
- Coaching the team on Agile practices
- Capacity planning
- Tracking velocity
- Backlog management
- Ensuring Agile working across the team, including running sprint ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives
- Release management
- Tracking actions, risks & issues, managing and removing blockers
- Reporting on completion of tickets, sprints and the velocity of the team
- Working with the Product Manager and Business Analysts to prioritise the backlog and define the roadmap
- Documenting meeting notes on behalf of the team where applicable using Confluence
- Managing sprints and tickets through JIRA
