Job Description

The data analyst  is a delivery role, primarily around:

• finding, scraping, extracting and building datasets that are of interest
• Cleaning and wrangling into a useable format to query
• Querying the data to produce insights and story points

You will also be expected to do things like:

• download, merge and augment datasets
• clean and wrangle data in databases and spreadsheets
• scrape web pages to extract data
• use GA and GSC in order to build client reports
• build dashboards for clients in data studio
• work with designers and developers to make your datasets into beautiful data visualisations

This role is a hands on role where you will be learning a lot and working under our lead data scientist.

This role is not client facing and you will not be expected to deal with clients.

You should be expert with

• Excel & Sheets
• Google analytics
• Google Search Console
• Google Data Studio

You should be intermediate with

• Databases like MySQL
• Data visualisation techniques

You should have a basic understanding of

• Web Scraping
• APIs
• Python
• HTML

Day to Day

You will be working with the creative and data team to help come up with cool new data journalism campaigns by looking at interesting data sets around the web in order to feed the creative team the data to make cool data visualisations similar to the ones seen on:

• https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/

You will also assist the account manager in producing reports for out clients every month.

Salary Band

• £30k-35k per year, depending on experience
