We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Conduct Risk Senior Consultant in our Group Conduct & Compliance team.

Who are we?

We want to be the best place that any of our colleagues have ever worked.

We’re the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement business. We offer a range of products across our market-leading brands, Standard Life, SunLife, Phoenix Life and ReAssure. Around 1 in 5 people in the UK has a pension with us. We’re a FTSE 100 business that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we’re not done yet.

The role

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic and supportive Group Risk team. You’ll be responsible for providing Line 2 support and guidance to all areas of the Group to ensure conduct risks are properly identified, recorded, and addressed. You’ll champion a strong and positive conduct focused culture that promotes a high standard of colleague conduct in line with our Code of Conduct and the FCA’s Individual Conduct Rules, and ensures Phoenix meets its regulatory obligations.

You’ll develop your career and profile by building and maintaining strong relationships with key areas of the business, including senior managers and Line 1 risk teams. This will involve overseeing colleague compliance with our Code of Conduct and the Individual Conduct Rules and contributing to Line 2 reporting and opinions for key governance committees including the Board, Risk Committee, Customer Committee and Chief Risk Officer papers. You’ll also play an important role in the team by assisting and deputising for the Conduct Risk Manager and contributing to the continuous improvement of our processes and procedures.

What are we looking for?

You’ll love this role if you have a keen interest in and an understanding of Regulatory principles, rules, and guidance, particularly those relating to the Individual Conduct Rules, Diversity & Inclusion, Remuneration & Incentives and Training & Competence.

We’re looking for someone with a good understanding of financial services who is passionate about colleague behaviours, fairness and doing what is right for our colleagues, customers, and Phoenix. We actively encourage our team to improve how we collaborate with the business to improve efficiency and effectiveness and to look for different ways to promote and enable informed decision making and controlled risk taking. There’s real opportunity to shape how we do things and get involved in innovative projects such as our recent Individual Conduct Rule bespoke podcasts that the team designed, featured in, and led on the production of!

You’ll thrive in this role if you have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence key stakeholders, and strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks and work on your own initiative with limited supervision.

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.
