Introduction: We are looking for final-year students or recent graduates in finance-related disciplines (Business Administration, Economics and Commerce) who wish to start a training and professional path in banking. Analytical skills, problem solving and the ability to work in a team are fundamental for this position. We seek curious people with a natural propensity to find solutions to non-standard problems and a proactive approach to challenges. Given the sensitivity and importance of the data handled, precision and attention to detail are essential. The resource will join a team specialized in Credit Risk Management, responsible for calculating accounting write-downs according to the IFRS 9 accounting standard for Intesa Sanpaolo's bank financial statements. The intern will have the opportunity to develop skills in financial data analysis, risk assessment and accounting process management in a structured and highly educational environment.
Main activities:
- Support the team in producing calculations required for estimating provisions according to IFRS 9
- Analyze results and reports from the calculations, helping to identify anomalies and explain observed phenomena
- Interface with different bank units and professional roles
- Participate in analysis of new calculation methodologies, contributing to evaluate their transferability into calculation engines and supporting simulations to estimate impacts in advance
What you will learn:
- Understand the calculation logic of accounting write-downs under IFRS 9 and their impact on bank financial statements
- Use data analysis and reporting tools, gaining familiarity with industry software and languages
- Interpret and validate quantitative analysis results, developing a critical approach to financial data management
- Deepen knowledge of Credit Risk Management processes in a structured banking environment
- Acquire problem solving skills and methodological research capabilities, contributing to improvement of risk evaluation models
- Develop communication and cross-functional collaboration skills by interacting with various bank units
Required qualifications:
- Degree in Business Administration, Economics and Commerce or related fields (also if still in progress)
- Knowledge of accounting and financial statement principles, interest in the IFRS 9 accounting standard
- Advanced Excel for data analysis and processing
- SQL, SAS, Python (considered a plus)
- Ability to analyze large volumes of data with attention to detail
- Good level of English
