We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Corporate Tax Manager to join ourTax Compliance and Advisory team.

The role

You will  help manage tax compliance, support projects, manage tax risk and apply technical and business knowledge to aid senior management decision making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the UK tax compliance process for the companies within our group. These include life insurance companies, holding companies, companies providing financing to operating entities, service companies and small trading and investment companies;
  • Supporting the relationship with HMRC on said companies including managing correspondence and enquiries;
  • Supporting group-wide tax compliance requirements such as group relief, corporate interest restriction and country-by-country reporting;
  • Providing input into projects and support to the business on matters involving the above entities; and
  • Working with and supporting the development of junior and less experienced members of the team
  • Maintain up to date professional knowledge in an environment of fast moving regulatory change.

What are we looking for?

  • Professional qualification in tax (e.g. CTA) or accountancy (e.g. CA, ACA or ACCA).
  • Experience in a large corporate tax environment, either in-house or in professional services firm advising large groups.
  • Interest in and ideally experience of process automation, process improvement and supporting change.
  • Interest in financial services, ideally with some relevant experience of Life Assurance and Asset Management sector
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet deadlines
