Compliance Officer

Here at QBE, we are looking to recruit a motivatedand proactive Compliance Officer to join the well-established compliance team in our London office. This person will support the delivery of key Compliance activities, ensuring that processes meet with business, regulatory and legal requirements and are fit for purpose. This position would be ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their career by taking on a varied range of responsibilities in support of the Compliance team and wider business.Experience in regulatory and financial crime compliance within the Lloyd's market would be a real advantage.

The Opportunity

  • Conduct horizon scanning, monitor relevant legal and regulatory changes and communicate these to the business.
  • Review and update compliance policies, guidance, training materials and intranet site content.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory and Lloyd’s returns on a variety of subjects.
  • Collation and analysis of management information and preparation of dashboards and reports.
  • Preparation of papers and updates for committees and working groups.
  • Prepare and update risk assessments, work closely with relevant teams and respond to business queries in relation to anti-money laundering, bribery and corruption and fraud.
  • Prepare and submit Suspicious Activity Reports to the National Crime Agency and equivalent bodies.
  • Maintain gifts and entertainment and conflicts of interest registers, conduct content reviews and answer related business queries.
  • Co-ordinate compliance use of the in-house risk management platform, conduct regular reporting and support the management of issues and incidents.
  • Support established processes for the management of outsourcing and third-party risk.
  • Provide general assistance with all activities undertaken by the compliance function as required, supporting delivery of the Compliance Plan and associated objectives.

Essential Requirements

  • Self-motivated, with a desire to challenge yourself and continue your professional learning and development.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied and fast-paced workload.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders and work well within a team environment.
  • Strong analytical, research and reporting skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A broad range of compliance experience gained within insurance or financial services an advantage.
  • Familiar with regulatory and Lloyd's compliance processes, with knowledge of UK and local regulators’ requirements for insurers an advantage.
