Job Description

How You Will Make An Impact

The ideal candidate will bring their compensation expertise to assist in the design and administration of thredUP hourly and salary compensation programs.  As the Compensation Analyst you will report to and partner closely with the VP, People Operations and Total Rewards and play a crucial role in ensuring thredUP compensation programs are competitive, fair, and aligned with business goals and industry benchmarks.  In this role you will be a thought partner and collaborator for a variety of teams, including the People Team (people operations, people business partners, and talent acquisition), Legal and Finance to provide data, complete analysis and support the administration of competitive and fair programs.

In This Role You’ll Get To:

  • Benchmark new and existing positions across the organization against external market survey sources.  Prepare submission of annual salary surveys and interpret results. Use market data to dissect and assess the organization's competitive position.  Participate in ad hoc surveys
  • Partner with People Business Partners and senior stakeholders to present compensation recommendations for offers, promotions or market adjustments
  • Build and develop salary ranges and pay grade structures.  Create job profiles for new roles in Workday, manage job architecture
  • Stay up-to-date with general market trends, industry specific trends and competitive compensation practices
  • Process quarterly performance increases for hourly Team Members, create communication materials, and audit data
  • Draft compensation communications to ensure stakeholders and managers understand the compensation programs
  • Participate in the testing, setup and rollout of the semi-annual market increase process in Workday
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and reporting requirements
  • Perform data breakdown and share insights and recommendations
  • Partner with HRIS and Data Analytics to obtain and share data, complete regular audits and ensure data integrity
  • Support with administrative tasks and tracking for equity awards
  • Perform other duties as needed in support of the People Operations Team

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a Compensation function
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or related field
  • Knowledge of how to design, implement and evaluate compensation programs
  • Experience developing job architectures and salary ranges
  • Experience with market pricing tools
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and translate into meaningful insights
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and proven organizational skills are critical to success in this role
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential employee matters with discretion
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cultivate strong partnerships across departments
  • Must have advanced knowledge of G Suite and advanced excel skills
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation a plus
  • Experience with Workday Advanced Compensation Module preferred
  • Prior exposure to stock plans and employee stock purchase plans is a plus

At thredUP, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $75,000 and $90,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Many thredUP employees also have the opportunity to own shares of thredUP stock. thredUP employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, as well as a discount when purchasing thredUP stock if voluntarily participating in thredUP’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
