Location: Role could be based in either our Telford, Wythall or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home.

Salary and benefits: £55-75,000 plus 16-32% annual bonus potential, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, 10% non contributory pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

We have an incredible opportunity to work within our new Group Procurement structure as a Commercial Partnerships Manager looking after our Asset Management and Market Data indirect spend.
The role
The role holder has a huge opportunity to positively effect our company profitability and competitive market position via the creation, execution and on-going maintenance of effective Procurement and SRM lifecycle strategies for Asset management and market data services. They will be responsible for partnering with key business stakeholders to lead cross-functional teams through end-to-end strategic procurement activities including supplier identification, selection, negotiation as well as supplier and commercial management, culminating in the elevation of Procurement’s reputation within the organisation through a significantly improved value proposition.
- Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with category/departmental objectives and wider-organisational goals.
- Supplier Selection & Management: Identify, assess, and commercially manage end-to-end relationships with strategic, critical and other material suppliers to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.
- Procurement and Negotiation: Lead the strategic procurement process – negotiate key commercial terms and contracts and manage post-contract award supplier relationships and performance to maintain business benefits and mitigate risks.
- Cost Optimisation: Implement cost transformation strategies including, but not limited to, demand management, volume consolidation, specification optimisation, cost re-engineering and process efficiencies to generate savings and drive profitability.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with sourcing activities, including managing regulatory contractual change, ESG standards, supplier risks, contract risks and ensure business continuity.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Finance, Legal, Risk, and Business Unit Executives to understand their needs and requirements and provide strategic guidance and support.
- Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics and monitor the performance of the categories under management, track savings and identify areas for improvement.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with our Centre of Excellence team, ensuring that Procurement and third-party management best practices are adopted to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our commercial partnerships.
What are we looking for?
- Demonstrable background of improving the value proposition of Procurement for indirect spend (i.e. services)
- Experience of adopting a strategic approach to Procurement, from defining category scope through to on-going maintenance of a defined and agreed category strategy
- Strong negotiation acumen, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders based on credibility and trust
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data driven approach to decision-making
- Experience of working with procurement tools and systems
- Current working knowledge of contracting models
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- MCIPS qualification, or working towards (desirable)
- Detailed knowledge of asset management and market data supply market, from both an established service provider and disruptor perspective (desirable)
- Knowledge of financial services products and regulations (desirable)
