The role

The purpose of the Retirement Solutions Commercial Function is to support the division in achieving its financial targets. We use financial reporting and commercial analysis to drive actionable insights.  This promises a high-profile and cross-disciplinary role with extensive access to senior stakeholders within the organisation.

Working within the Retirement Solutions Commercial Function, you will develop a detailed knowledge of the value drivers within our annuities and mortgages businesses.

Using management information, you will assist in assessing our performance across IFRS and Solvency II-based KPIs. There will be a focus on using numerical analysis to make recommendations to the RS Commercial & Finance Director. This will also drive the ability to provide guidance on implications that particular actions will have on Phoenix’s KPIs.

You will assist in building tools to enhance the frequency, granularity and quality of the management information that Retirement Solutions uses to monitor and manage its risks.

The role will give you the change to assist in the analysis of specific projects and commercial initiatives, with a view to determining their feasibility; validating the impacts they are expected to have on Phoenix’s targets.

We are very privileged team working across a broad range of projects. We get exposure to the asset and liability side of the balance sheet, as well as required capital. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a lot quickly and build a really strong foundation for personal growth.

What are we looking for?

•A commercially minded individual who wants to use data to make concrete recommendations

•Highly numerate graduate / post-graduate, and working towards Actuarial or other financial qualification

•The capability to work proactively and independently in resolving issues

•The desire and ability to work across multiple projects at the same time

•Great interpersonal and communication skills

•Comfortable problem solving rather than wanting to follow a process

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.
