We are looking for an experienced Senior Game Designer who has excellent knowledge of combat systems and is a competitive gamer with a passion for FPS games.

The team at BULKHEAD are a group of developers, who strive to build impressive multiplayer games. Our team members are multi-disciplined developers who strive to push boundaries, question the norm and are always looking for better ways to do things.

Our Designers are engaged in varied tasks, addressing the day-to-day and week-to-week needs of a large title. You will be able to iterate quickly, aiding in creating contemporary design solutions that you will build from end-to-end, from early ideation, to documentation, through to prototyping and final implementation in engine.

  • Ability to balance combat systems for a live-service game including weapons, gadgets and vehicular combat
  • Embrace regular playtesting as a key part of the process
  • Champion and maintain 3C design features (Camera, Character, Controls)
  • Create combat designs that offer tactical choices and cooperate opportunities for players
  • Develop combat mechanics and weapon skills for a large multiplayer shooter
  • Write and maintain clear and concise documentation for feature specs, mechanics, and behaviours
  • Work with animation, programming and art teams to deliver extraordinary feeling combat experiences
  • Help design game features in other areas of the game
  • Work with players in mind, creating designs and systems around player experience
  • Keep up to date with new trends in the industry


  • An avid competitive gamer with a passion for FPS
  • Experience in UE4/UE5
  • Have shipped at least one AAA game where you were heavily involved in player combat mechanics and abilities.
  • Have a passion for combat games and their game mechanics
  • Working knowledge of the 3Cs
  • Multi-Discipline design experience


  • Experience working on FPS games
  • Visual scripting knowledge
