Who are we?

We want to be the best place that any of our 6,600 colleagues have ever worked.

We’re the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement business. We offer a range of products across our market-leading brands, Standard Life, SunLife, Phoenix Life and ReAssure. Around 1 in 5 people in the UK has a pension with us. We’re a FTSE 100 organisation that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we’re not done yet.

The Opportunity

As a senior member of the team, you’ll design and deliver multi-channel communication strategies that engage workplace members and support client business goals. You’ll work closely with trustees, corporate clients, and senior internal stakeholders to drive campaigns that make a real difference. You'll also help coach and mentor other communications colleagues, raising standards and supporting innovation across our team and for Standard Life.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead strategic communications planning and delivery for major workplace clients (typically £500m+ AUA).
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, trustees, and senior stakeholders.
  • Create compelling member engagement narratives, informed by data, insights, and market knowledge.
  • Oversee campaign execution, ensuring consistency, quality, compliance, and impact.
  • Support business growth by contributing to new propositions, pitches, and content development.
  • Mentor and support junior colleagues, championing continuous improvement and innovation.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience leading large-scale communication campaigns for corporate or workplace savings clients.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder influence skills, with an ability to deliver through complexity.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Strategic thinking combined with creativity and commercial awareness.
  • Experience coaching or developing others is an advantage.

Professional qualifications (e.g., CIM or a pensions-related certification) are desirable but not essential

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.
