Position Description

As a Character Artist at Ubisoft Montreal, you will craft very high-quality realistic characters for a major AAA franchise. The Character Artist role helps establish visual standards, produce key heroes, and support the team’s artistic excellence and consistency.

What You Will Do

  • Create high-quality realistic characters for a recognized AAA production
  • Produce complete hero characters that serve as references and working bases for the entire team
  • Design premium outfits for in-game monetization
  • Translate art direction into credible, detailed characters faithful to the vision
  • Define and maintain character quality standards in collaboration with Art Direction and Associate Art Direction (Character Specialty)
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level artists through constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure visual consistency
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of character creation pipelines and best practices

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team

  • Proven ability to deliver realistic characters in a AAA production environment
  • Excellent mastery of character modeling, sculpting, and texturing
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, materials, and proportions
  • Experience with tools and production pipelines dedicated to character creation
  • Ability to follow and reinforce a clear artistic vision
  • Track record of establishing visual references or quality standards
  • Collaborative spirit and a passion for knowledge sharing and mentorship
  • Strong communication skills in a multidisciplinary environment
