Who are we?

We want to be the best place that any of our 6,600 colleagues have ever worked.

We’re the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement business. We offer a range of products across our market-leading brands, Standard Life, SunLife, Phoenix Life and ReAssure. Around 1 in 5 people in the UK has a pension with us. We’re a FTSE 100 organisation that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we’re not done yet.

The role

Within the Finance Reporting Centre, Operations team, a small team of accountants currently provides subject matter expertise and support to delivery of the many change programmes across the company. The team supports projects which have requirements to change or establish new cash and banking operations for Phoenix (whether that is internally or at outsource partners and banking partners). The role sits within the team.

You'll support or take the lead on banking workstreams for large change programmes, supporting projects from discovery phase and impact assessment through to delivery and ensuring changes land safely and successfully in the business and at external partners (outsourced service providers and banks). You'll work with and manage key internal and external stakeholders (banks and outsource partners) and will be responsible for managing your deliverables, demand and priorities across multiple project workstreams.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience of working within a strong financial controls environment
  • Experience of working in an operational banking or treasury function with a good knowledge of the UK payments landscape and transactional banking is essential.
  • Experience of working on large scale change programmes.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • A strong communicator with the ability to build excellent working relationships
  • Experience of working with retail banks and other payments-service-providers to deliver payments and banking change would be highly desirable.

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.
