Capital Markets Engineer

Join our Data and Reporting Platform Delivery team to shape the systems that power front-office trading and capital markets operations. If you're passionate about building scalable data solutions and integrating with leading OMS platforms, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.

Job Type:  Permanent

Location: London - hybrid role (at least 2 to 3 days in office). All roles are advertised as open to part-time and job-share using the statement below.

Salary and benefits: Up to £85,000 plus discretionary bonus, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more

About the Role

As a Capital Markets Engineer, you’ll be part of a stream-aligned team within our Retirement Solutions and Asset Management division. You’ll design and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that support trading workflows, integrate with OMS platforms, and ensure data accuracy across capital markets systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain solutions for trading workflows, order management, and capital markets data flows.
  • Build integrations with OMS platforms (e.g., Aladdin, Murex, Charles River).
  • Write clean, scalable code in Python and SQL.
  • Design and optimise data pipelines using Snowflake and AWS.
  • Apply engineering best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with Tech Leads, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and front-office stakeholders to translate requirements into working solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with coding standards, security, and enterprise architecture.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Demonstrable experience in asset management, wealth management or investment banking.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets trade lifecycle and order management workflows.
  • Experience building data pipelines and ETL processes in asset management or investment banking.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with OMS platforms and production trading systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Desirable

  • Exposure to agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps tooling, and real-time data integration.
  • Knowledge across multiple asset classes.
  • Cloud certifications or financial services qualifications.
