About this role
This newly created opportunity for Business Performance Manager based in either our Sydney or Melbourne office responsible for providing in-depth analysis and insights into the national and local performance of one of our key service lines.
This role is a true business partnering role and will require building relationships with all Partners and team members, taking ownership of budgeting, forecasting, lock-up management (WIP & debtor), analysis of transactional finance & management accounting, period end results and statutory compliance. Another key part of the role is reporting and analysing KPI’s from the Practice Management System to all stakeholders.
The role will also include project based tasks as required, such as supporting the Firms strategy, process improvement, client profitability analysis, charge rate & recoverability reviews, P&C salary benchmarking.
Key areas you will be involved in:
- Responsibility for month end processes, financial analysis and reporting activities
- Analysis of monthly results and reporting
- Providing business insights to stakeholders
- Preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
- Timely and accurate management accounting and financial reporting
- Policy development
- Risk management and compliance
- Ad hoc projects & other duties to assist the Head of Business Performance, CFO & National Managing Partner
You’ll be agile, responsive and most importantly you will bring a thirst for learning. Your passion for understanding your clients’ businesses will see you go beyond addressing technical issues to developing actionable growth recommendations.
This role will suit a results driven, team orientated professional with the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Degree in Accounting/Finance or a related discipline
- CA/CPA qualified (desirable)
- Minimum 5 years FP&A experience, ideally within a professional services environment
- Strong computer skills, including advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Power BI experience (desirable)
- Exceptional analytical & problem solving skills
- Commercial acumen
- Highly organised
- Demonstrated initiative and follow through with projects
- Strong written and communication skills
- Can-do, enthusiastic attitude
- Strong team player
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail
Ability to manage and negotiate competing priorities
