Job Type:  Permanent

Location: ideally will be based in our Edinburgh office with time spent working in the office and at home, but we will consider applications from any of our UK offices

We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Business Finance Analyst to join our Fund Accounting Reconciliation team to assist in the provision of professional accountancy and finance analysis service by executing specific and regular finance processes to ensure the organisation meets its regulatory, reputational and commercial requirements.

The role

  • Support the delivery of robust, effective and efficient, operational and finance processes and controls
  • Deliver a controlled and efficient month end close
  • Investigate and where appropriate prepare and post journals to correct the ledger position across areas    including policyholder accounting records such as premiums, claims etc.
  • Reconciliation of Ledger accounts, providing control and assurance over the balance sheet.
  • Preparation of month end reconciliations, analysing and commenting on any variances and exceptions in the month.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience of working in an Accounting team in financial services with a good level of accounting knowledge.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive and Organised, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Qualified / Part Qualified Accountancy qualification would be advantageous
