Who are we?

We’re Standard Life, a retirement specialist focused entirely on retirement savings and income. We champion the belief that everyone’s journey to and through retirement can be better, and for more than 200 years, we’ve been helping our customers plan and prepare for their financial futures.

Life today is increasingly complicated, uncertain and unpredictable. People move through different careers, face unexpected moments and navigate important choices. We offer our colleagues flexibility, trust and benefits that work for whatever life brings. In return we expect curiosity, connection, accountability and high standards. We make room for what matters - so you can bring your best, every day.

The role

As our Workplace business continues to grow, we are expanding our Bid Management team with a new Bid Manager role. This additional role reflects a sustained increase in bid activity and plays a critical part in winning new schemes and retaining our existing clients. Joining a high‑performing team, you will work to deliver high‑quality bid responses that support our continued success in the Workplace market.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing and delivering high‑quality responses to RFPs and research questionnaires for our Employer Benefit Consultants (EBCs) and Corporate Advisers (CAs).
  • Supporting the coordination and project management of the tender process, ensuring strong controls and timely delivery through the sales cycle.
  • Working with a designated panel of EBCs and CAs, aligned via our BDD/BDM network.
  • Helping the team prepare for pitches, site visits, and other critical stages of the sales process.
  • You will be a key contributor in ensuring that every opportunity we pursue is supported by well‑crafted, accurate and compelling submissions.

What we’re looking for

  • A genuine interest in workplace pensions or financial services within a sales‑driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into clear, engaging content.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with confidence working across teams and managing multiple deadlines.
  • Experience coordinating projects or processes where attention to detail and time management are essential.

We want to hire the whole version of you.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.

We’re reviewing applications as they come in, so apply early to avoid missing out.
